Child Health
Health Visitors are registered nurses with additional training in child health. They offer advice and information about:
- Planning for a baby
- Children’s development
- Behavioural problems in under 5yr olds
- Childcare options
- Local groups/services
- Staying healthy

Maternity
Ante-natal and post-natal clinics are provided by the Midwives at Devizes Community Hospital.
Pregnancy tests are not available in the surgery but can be supplied by a pharmacist.
A family planning clinic is held at New Park Street Health Clinic each Thursday evening.
Triage
Requests for same-day appointments and home visits are assessed by the triage nurse who can offer an appointment with the appropriate clinician.
Practice Nurses
Practice Nurses regularly monitor patients with chronic illness such as asthma, diabetes and coronary heart disease.
As well as providing general nursing, they also offer: Cervical screening, contraceptive advice, HRT advice/monitoring, BP checks, well person/new patient checks, clip/suture removal, wound care, travel advice/vaccinations, injections, minor illness advice/treatment, stop smoking programme, ear syringing, medication reviews and weight loss advice.
Memory Clinic
A memory clinic is held in the practice once a fortnight by a Community Psychiatric Nurse. Referral is via a doctor.
Physiotherapy
There is a Clinic held once a week in the surgery. Appointments are made after referral by a doctor.
Counselling
A referral for counselling is only available from a doctor. Sessions are held twice a week in the surgery.
Minor Surgery
Both minor surgery and intermediate skin surgery services are provided on the premises on a regular basis. Referral is through a doctor.
Sick Notes
Medical certificates (Med 3) are provided after a patient has been off work for more than six days. Those under hospital care must obtain a certificate from a hospital doctor.
After 4 days off work a self-certificate form, SC2, must be filled in. It does not require a doctor’s signature.
